Illustrated ‘you can’t climb the stairs in a princess dress’.
I was chosen from a selection of students by Chris Rushbrooke, the children’s book author. The book was published in 2021 and I was responsible for producing character designs, internal imagery and book cover Illustration.
I loved being a part of this project and I’m so proud to see how each illustration came together to create a narrative. This was the perfect opportunity to play around with plenty of texture and bright colours. Each component was hand drawn and then scanned to be assembled in Photoshop.
The type is my friend’s handwriting which I scanned and created into a typeface. I think it adds a personal but friendly and welcoming touch to the book.
